My name is Samira Mehrshad, an Iranian visual artist specializing in hand-knotted silk rug design and fine art portrait painting.I hold a degree in Carpet Design from Kashan University, where I received formal training in the principles of traditional Persian rug craftsmanship, color theory, and design composition. With a deep appreciation for Iran’s rich artistic heritage, I focus particularly on designing Qom silk hand-knotted rugs, combining classical Persian motifs with a contemporary sensibility.In parallel with my work in textile design, I am also a portrait and oil painter, creating emotionally expressive artworks rooted in realism. My paintings — whether monochromatic sketches or full-color oil pieces — seek to capture the inner world of each subject with precision and depth.Every project I undertake, whether on canvas or in silk, is grounded in a commitment to quality, cultural authenticity, and personal connection.
